PRIMARY - These dancers spend under 6 hours per week in a dance studio, including all training, rehearsals, and coaching. ADVANCED - These dancers spend 6+ hours per week in a dance studio, including all training, rehearsals, and coaching. At least 80% of all participants in each entry must be a part of the designated competition level, otherwise the entry must 'move up' in level. All entries in all levels will be adjudicated with the same standards and judging criteria. Critiques will be geared towards the appropriate level of instruction. All Regional Ages are based on Saturday Regional Competition Date. All National Ages are based on Regional Ages at time of Qualification.
To reach the average age of an entry, add all the ages together and divide by the number of dancers in the entry. When an average age ends in .5 or above, round up to the next age. Names and ages of all dancers must appear on the entry form or it will not be accepted. All competing dancers must be prepared to present proof of age should a question arise. The average age of each entry may not drop more than one overall age division below the age of the oldest dancer in the entry, regardless of the actual average age. In such a case, the entry may compete with the lowest age of the new overall age division Example: If an entry contains dancers ranging in age from 9-18, even if the average age is 12.3, the entry may not drop more than one overall age division ( it will drop from Senior to Teen, not Junior). It will compete in the lowest age of the new overall age division (in this case, Teen 13).
