The National Title Competition will be separate from the Finals Solo Competition. Title entries may not compete as part of the Finals Solo competition. Separate entry registration required. All entries must be prequalified.
All title performers will also be evaluated in 3 mandatory classes – ballet, jazz, and tap. Class evaluations will consist of 35% of the overall composite title score.
All title entries will be required to step center stage, introduce themselves, hometown, age, and performance piece (prior to performance). Title entries will also participate in a brief onstage interview with the judges.
Title entries will receive a separate ‘Title Presentation/Interview’ score in addition to their adjudication score.
50% Solo Performance Score
35% Master Class Evaluation
15% Title Presentation/Interview Score
The top 3 finalists in each age division will perform their solos at the Closing Night Gala – competing for National Titles. The Gala solo score will replace the previous solo score within each composite score to determine the title winners.
In addition, ONSTAGE NY National Title Winners will each receive:
- $500 Cash Award and a special plaque
- A yearlong NYC Dance Alliance Regional Workshop Scholarship
2023 NYCDA National Scholarship Winners may not compete for a 2023 Onstage NY National Title.
